Here is a new aussie clam variety I discovered in my "Death Tank" a few days ago! I found some details on it online and thought I would share them with you !
From DeathDepot Dead Aquaria's webste. More information on this rare species! Tridacna deathicus aussie Crocea Clam - 1st grade - Diet: Needs no feeding. If you feel sorry for the deathicus you can eat a bowl of clam chowder infront of your tank.
Feeding: Not required
Behavior: Very peaceful toward other tankmates, some consider it to be comatose infact!
Care: Many consider the deathicus an Easily-maintenance specimen.
Lighting: Doesn't care if you have NO,
PC,
VHO,
MH/HQI or
T5. The deathicus thrives under any lighting condition and even total darkness!
Water flow: Too much water flow may blow your deathicus around the tank. The deathicus can be attached with glue to any substrate to prevent blowage!
General notes: Tridacna deathicus Crocea Clam 1st grade will come in a single color - dead. The deathicus Crocea Clam 1st grade is very peaceful to other tank members. The deathicus Crocea Clam 1st grade is an Easy-maintenance specimen. Any lighting, even a candle or flashlight once a week is fine. The deathicus Crocea Clam 1st grade requires low flow else it can be blow from the substrate.
Water parameters: Even the most foul water is good for your deathicus Crocea. (SG whatever your broken swingarm guage reads is fine,
pH this clam can tolerate extremes, Temp. -50F to 500F though should not be placed under a broiler as this could crack the delicate shell).
Origin: The deathicus Aussie Crocea Clam 1st grade is commonly collected from The tanks of most experienced hobbiests!
