Great discussion. I just recetly re-did my flow in my 210 gal display tank. I have three Koralia#3's, two asymetrically on each side wall and one in the middle back aiming forward. I also have two VorTech's, one on each side (positioned towards the front), aiming at each other, and regulated by their own wireless system that speeds them up and down in an irregular fashion. I also have a lone MaxiJet 1200 on all the time at the bottom right back wall. The VorTechs speed up and down without any noticable noise. I have never had good luck with either Koralias or MaxiJets on wavemeakers, because they clank and rattle. The Maxi's start off quiet but soon develop that clunking noise, which scares the heck out of my fish. I really think the VorTechs are the best powerheads, each delivering 3000 gph at maximum. The only problem is that each VorTech is over $400 with the wireless driver. This gets into that "you get what you pay for" thing. So all together, I estimate that I have 6200 gph including the returns, or approx 30x tank volume. I'm waiting for it to blow all the scales off my fish.
