Glad you started your own thread. Sounds like you're off to a great start. You've found a good home for information here. As Veriann said, let us know what you're planning to do, and we'll be happy to give you some feedback. Even when you don't want it.

Some of the things you've already posted lead me to believe you are going to do fine. For example, you are smart in being concerned about the Hippo tang. And this is a perfect example of a situation where you are going to get conflicting points of view. Here's mine: you are correct about the gallons being OK, and you are also correct about the shape of your tank being a concern. While this tang will be fine for a while, I believe it will eventually outgrow the tank. And most tangs tend to be aggressive little bas#@%*s, so this would not be the fish I would start off with.

Of course, I always err on the safe side. I have a 240 gallon tank with 12 fish in it, and all are small except the Powder Blue Tang. Most people who see the tank thing it is very understocked and that i need to add more fish. I think it's just right. So put me in the no Hippo Tang group!
