Coryg, you can always use the solution as a preventative measure against harmful Parasites and Bacteria. Once you purchase a new Coral and you use a drip method to acclimate the water parameters to that of your aquarium within a seperate container you can dose the Lugol's Solution in the containers water and leave the coral for about 10 to 15 minutes maximum. (I personally would underdose rather then overdose the Lugol's Solution based on how large of a container you are using.) This way you can benefit from it's preventative capabilities rather then dosing directly into your Aquarium.
