There are a couple of much less common Nassarius that appear to breed and lay eggs that develop directly into crawling juveniles. Their survival is supposed to be much higher. I have one of these species in my tank but have not found a single baby yet.
Hermit crabs and other crabs and shrimp are the usual predators of baby snails.

in my seahorse tank I have eggs all over the back of the glass. I do have babies all over as well. my reef is a differant story they are a snack when they hatch.
