The base rock is really smelling ripe. As if rinsing it triggered more decomposition. There are some small dark patches in various places that almost look like it was burnt. Must be some organic matter rotting away on there. Maybe getting some water in there would help. I picked up a trash can on the way home so I can start making some
RO and mixing salt.
