I've also "angled" the outermost baffles (ones fixed to the bottom of the tank) so that the water doesn't spill over, but slides down the baffle, sort of like this "\".

Were did you see that
That is basically used when you have the
fuge flowing into the return chamber and you have 5+ inches difference in high between
fuge and return chamber,other then that the 1" or so difference between the higher and the lower baffle wont make any difference
