I try to visualise what you have describle. Is your planned setup similar to the diagram below?
If yes, there should not be any problem of the
sump overflow if there is sufficient volume in the
sump to cater for the volume of the water in the durso compartment (up to the level of the durso pipe inlet) + the initial level of the water above the durso compartment divider.
