Most of my plumbing was put together with PVC glue. I don't really recommend it, now, though. Theres nothing wrong with it, but it leaks a lot (and I put a LOT of glue on when I sealed the pipes together), and now its impossible to take the pipes apart. If you can, I'd go with threaded pipes... I'm going to have to redo my entire plumbing setup eventually, but I keep putting it off... its not going to be fun :/
