Sump Return Question

ok i am anxously awaiting my overflow and all the fun stuff to make a sump however i have decided to go with a DIY arcrylic sump. now i am sitting down with Visio designing the sump around a nautilus skimmer. but my main concern is i want a sump with alot of water in it almost to the top of the sump. but i do know that if the power goes out the return tube will syphon back down all the water above the outlet in the tank. is there a way to fix that? do they make check valves for PVC? or do i just need to put the return outlet above the water level?

thanks in advance, oh and i know i cant spell lol
