| i have used hydrogen peroxide as a deactivator after adding potassium permanganate. and had no problems. i am not sure about the long-term caustic effect of h2o2 if used permanently. i bought a product called "oxy-nater" that uses h2o2. when i dismantled my tank a year later, i noticed the spot on the bottom of my 100gal plexi completely crazed and some fine cracks. i threw the device away.
