| it really depends on your tanksize, but 1 gallon can be siphoned unrestricted into a 75 gallon aquarium with little to no affect.. (using airline tubing)
so for your tank, using 1/4 gallon, unless you have a 20 gallon or smaler tank you should be just fine..
