Aquanetics Temp Controller

I have an Aquanetics (they are out of business) temp controller that I use. Yesterday I thought that my chiller was running a long time and when I wiggled the probe around the temp dropped from the 80 that was showing to 78. Set point is 79. Then the temp started to go crazy. So I unplugged the controller to see if it would reset itself. But when I plugged it back in instead of a temperature it said "ep". This must be an error code but I can't seem to find any error code info online. Can anyone help with this error code? Do you think it means the probe is bad or the controller?
